Start-of-Day Organised Activities

Monday 20th November, 2017

9:00am - 10:30am

Talk a guided tour of The Cube (Symposium event site) and meet Pepper the Robot. The Cube is one of the world's largest digital learning and display spaces providing an interactive experience of QUT's science and engineering research. A number of interactive experiences will be available for some fun and adventure. If you have family or friends joining you in Brisbane - bring them along!

Code-A-Bot - Our recycling robots are slow and inefficient. We need your help to recode our robots and turn DERP (Department of Environmental Resource Processing) into a recycling plant for the future!

ChemWorld - Chem World provides an inspiring and hands-on experience of chemistry and its fundamentals. This project allows students to conduct virtual chemistry experiments too dangerous or difficult to run in a classroom.

Chem World contains three interactive experiments - Fireworks, Rocket launch and Macro-Micro.

Dino Zoo - Ever wanted to meet a dinosaur? Dino Zoo at The Cube is the closest you can get to the real thing – minus the danger of being eaten! Our life-sized dinosaurs are the most scientifically accurate portrayals of these creatures in the world. And, thanks to artificial intelligence, our dinosaurs will even behave like the real thing, based on a set of behavioural parameters for each species.

Access Tour to the Visualisation and eResearch (ViseR) lab. ViseR works with QUT researchers and industry and government partners to develop innovative ways of modelling, visualising and interpreting complex information.
