For those wishing to partake in some free activities external to the Symposium some are listed below:

 

 

Tour Old Government House

Old Government House is located at the end of George Street at QUT's Gardens Point campus, next to the City Botanic Gardens and only a 10 minute walk from the city centre.

 

Monday 10am – 4pm

Tuesday 10am – 4pm

Wednesday 10am – 4pm

Thursday 10am – 4pm

Friday 10am – 4pm

Saturday Closed

Sunday 10am – 4pm

 

Tour Queensland Parliament
Parliament House is located at the corner of George and Alice Streets and is within easy walking distance of the Brisbane CBD.

 

General Public Tours - Monday to Friday
No booking is required.

Please Note: All visitors to Parliament House require government issued photo identification.

Tours operate Monday to Friday throughout the year except on public holidays.

On days when the Parliament is not sitting, tours commence at: 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm & 4 pm.
On days that the Parliament is sitting, one tour is available which commences at 2pm.

 

State Library of Queensland (Southbank)

Mon–Thu 10am–8pm
Fri–Sun 10am–5pm

 

Queensland Museum (Southbank)

Open daily from 9.30am - 5.00pm.

 

 

Brisbane Clock Tower Tours

Enjoy a Clock Tower tour for a special insight into Brisbane City Hall, one of Brisbane’s most iconic buildings and the symbolic heart of our city.
 

Daily, 10.15am - 4.45pm, every 15 minutes

 

Southbank beach

A major feature within the parkland is its man-made beach, which is 2,000 square metres of free-formed concrete surrounded by 4,000 cubic metres of sand.  The parklands are connected to the City by the Victoria Bridge at the northern end, and to Gardens Point by the Goodwill Bridge at the southern end.
